Monday, October 24 - Tuesday, October 25, 2011

  • 7:00 AM - 7:00 AM PDT
Boston, MA

An Exclusive, Invitation-Only Event

The Whistleblower Summit is an exclusive event for publicly traded or highly regulated employers now facing an inevitable onslaught of whistleblower and retaliation claims arising out of recent federal legislation. Sponsored by the Whistleblowing and Retaliation Practice Group of Littler Mendelson and the Government Enforcement and Compliance Practice Group of Choate, Hall & Stewart, the Summit will assemble a group of esteemed professionals in employment law, corporate compliance and white collar criminal defense to discuss the myriad of issues facing employers and provide approaches and solutions for preventing and defending whistleblower claims.

The two-day event will kick-off with a welcome lunch at 12 noon on Monday, October 24, followed by an in-depth discussion by a panel of experts about every aspect of defending a whistleblower claim from how to conduct an effective internal investigation to how to deal with the whistleblower in the workplace while defending a claim with the Department of Labor.

Attendees will enjoy complimentary accommodations at the elegant Mandarin Oriental in Boston's Back Bay. A reception and dinner will be held at the Mandarin on the evening of October 24, during which Summit participants will have an opportunity to network with peers, as well as Littler and Choate presenters.

The following day, Tuesday, October 25, the following presentations and panel discussions will be featured: the prevention of whistleblower and retaliation claims, innovative strategies for encouraging internal reports by whistleblowers, evaluating potential external reporting obligations, and policies and procedures optimally designed to create a culture of compliance. Littler and Choate attorneys who practice extensively in this area will provide the very latest in legal updates, with a particular emphasis on the Dodd-Frank Act and the regulations issued by various government agencies. Throughout the event, attendees will have the opportunity to discuss their specific questions and concerns with the presenters.
