Three Littler Attorneys Named to 2015 BTI Client Service All-Stars List

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (February 11, 2015) – Three attorneys from Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, have been named “Client Service All-Stars” by The BTI Consulting Group, Inc. in its new report, the BTI Client Service All-Stars 2015. The attorneys include Shareholders Jerry C. Newsome (Atlanta), Donald S. Prophete (Kansas City) and John A. Ybarra (Chicago).

The 2015 edition of the report, recognizing the best in client service, marks the 8th year that Littler attorneys have been included on the prestigious list. The annual study’s findings are based on hundreds of interviews with corporate counsel and their direct reports at large and Fortune 1000 companies.

About Jerry C. Newsome

Representing companies in lawsuits and agency proceedings involving all aspects of employment law, Newsome devotes the majority of his practice to litigating non-competition and trade secret disputes, drafting non-competition agreements, and assisting clients with proactive measures to protect their trade secrets and proprietary business information. He regularly conducts training sessions for managers and supervisors, with a focus on teaching strong management fundamentals in order to build employee morale, accomplish management objectives and ensure legal compliance. A current member of Littler’s Pro Bono Committee, he is the former hiring shareholder for the Atlanta office. Newsome is a member of the American Bar Association and has been recognized by Chambers USA and Martindale-Hubbell for his professional achievements. He received his J.D. from University of Memphis School of Law.

About Donald S. Prophete

Prophete has served as lead trial counsel in all types of employment disputes in federal and state courts in Kansas, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. A significant amount of his practice is spent on advising sports franchises on matters related to employment litigation, collective bargaining, arbitration and risk avoidance. In 2008, the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, in conjunction with the White House, appointed Prophete to serve as chairman of the Advisory Committee to the Commission for a two-year term. He has received widespread recognition for his career achievements, including: The Best Lawyers in America©, Chambers USA, Law360, Diversity & the Bar, the Legal 500, Super Lawyers and Ingram’s. Prophete has also been profiled in the media for his efforts in championing diversity in the legal industry. He received his J.D. from Boston University Law School.

Ybarra advises and represents clients in employment and labor relations, with a particular emphasis on wage and hour and compensation disputes. One of the nation’s most prolific and successful attorneys in the litigation of Fair Labor Standards Act collective actions and corresponding state law class actions, Ybarra has handled class, collective and individual cases in 32 states. He frequently speaks and conducts training programs for all levels of management on a wide range of employment law topics and is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois. He is also co-chair of the Hot Topics in Law Committee of the American Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section. Recognized by Martindale-Hubbell for his professional achievements, Ybarra received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
