BNA Privacy and Security Law Report

In this Littler attorney-authored article, Phil Gordon offers the ten most important reasons why workplace privacy issues need more attention. He discusses the effects of new technology on privacy in the workplace, the scope of workplace privacy laws, litigation stemming from workplace privacy issues and suggests that employees who are not protected by employers will not protect the data of clients. Gordon notes that 70 percent of data thefts are from insiders, and the first point he makes is, "don't expect your employees to care about customer privacy if you don't care about their privacy."
