Cos. Must Turn Other Cheek Over Worker Facebook Rants

Social media sites are giving employees a new avenue for venting their gripes.  However, businesses should be cautious about taking disciplinary action over insulting posts and tweets.  In fact, the NLRB issued a complaint against American Medical Response (AMR) of Connecticut when the company illegally fired a woman who posted negative comments.  Philip Gordon commented, “The AMR complaint is really where the board started to draw attention to the intersection between social media activity and the NLRA.”
