This course is a uniquely effective module designed to enable participants to clearly understand, identify and help prevent sexual harassment in the workplace, consistent with New York state and federal law. The interactive one-hour presentation covers the basics of sexual harassment prevention under New York state and federal law through a combination of engaging video vignettes and hypothetical scenarios that are examined and discussed by Littler attorney-trainers. Employees will have an opportunity to ask questions and receive responses in a timely manner.

Practically speaking, training employees on sexual harassment prevention and creating a culture in which concerns of harassment are addressed fairly and effectively can bring swifter resolution to issues and prevent the loss of engagement that can accompany inappropriate behavior in the workplace.

Employees will learn to:

  • Recognize sexual harassment in the workplace
  • Understand rights and expectations of employees with respect to workplace harassment
  • Understand avenues through which a complaint may be filed and investigated and what to expect after a complaint is brought

Topics Covered:

  • Understanding and preventing sexual harassment in the workplace
  • Hostile environment and quid pro quo sexual harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Information concerning employees' rights of redress, how to report potential sexual harassment, and all available forums for adjudicating complaints
  • Remedies and protections available under federal, state and local law
