Keep up to date on the ever-changing vaccination requirements and Virginia’s dramatic shift in favor of employee protection! With the onslaught of vaccination mandate pushback from certain state legislatures and federal courts in the recent month, we’ve reformatted our December program. On December 8, we will discuss the current status of the federal OSHA Emergency Temporary (vaccination or test) Standard, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) vaccine mandate, and the federal government contractor vaccine mandate, as well as the anti-vaccination laws promulgated in states from Texas to Florida, to Utah, to Tennessee, and beyond. And because it remains vital to stay current on Virginia employment laws, too, we will also address Virginia’s recently enacted whistleblower protection law, independent contractor law, and greatly expanded anti-discrimination protections (including disability and pregnancy accommodation requirements). We will also forecast the potential impact of the November elections on the Commonwealth’s employment laws beginning in the next legislative session in January 2022.
