New York adopted broad anti-sexual harassment legislation earlier this year. These far-reaching measures, which will roll into effect from summer 2018 to spring 2019, generally seek to educate workers about available rights and remedies, expand existing protections to cover broader classes of workers and remove perceived obstacles to raising sexual harassment claims. Even employers with well-developed harassment prevention programs will need to make updates to comply with these new requirements.
