UK Employment Rights Act 2025: Preparing for Major Changes – Strategic Guidance for HR Leaders and Legal Counsel
The Employment Rights Bill finally became the Employment Rights Act 2025 on 18 December 2025.
The Act contains the most significant changes to UK employment in decades, impacting all aspects of the employment relationship. Employers can expect:
- Fundamental changes in key HR processes at every stage of the employment lifecycle (from recruitment to dismissal and confidentiality agreements)
- Changes to employee relations and union rights (including measures aimed at making it easier for unions to build up support and gain bargaining rights)
- An increased focus on employment law compliance and enforcement (including the establishment of a new single enforcement body)
The scale of change is significant. Changes to the law are expected in stages, with most changes expected to come into force in the period beginning April 2026 through to 2027.
Our speakers will cover:
- The key changes and timings for implementation
- Key operational impacts for employers
- Priority actions to consider taking now to build a strong foundation ready for changes as they come into force
This session is ideal for legal counsel and HR leaders with responsibility for UK employment law.
