Summer Is Coming: Get the Basics on Complying with State and Federal Heat Regulations

Warmer temperatures present greater safety and health compliance challenges for employers given the myriad state and federal heat regulations and emphasis programs. This session will highlight jurisdictions with existing heat illness and injury prevention regulations, as well as give a summary of federal OSHA's efforts to address heat safety for workers through a National Emphasis Program (NEP) and a pending standard.

A team of Littler OSHA attorneys will discuss major state-specific regulatory obligations, as well as review general obligations if your state has no specific standard. The session will also cover federal OSHA's pending heat standard and next steps in the rulemaking. Given the ever-growing and fast-moving patchwork of regulations, the session will also offer practical guidance for addressing heat-related hazards in the workplace.
