As the national conversation grows regarding equal pay, employers are facing increased pressure to understand their obligations in this fast-changing space. New legislation in various jurisdictions across the United States provides the plaintiffs’ bar with increased opportunities, especially with respect to potential class action claims. Employers must balance talent retention, employee engagement and satisfaction concerns, and operational priorities all while addressing their shifting legal obligations in this area. Attendees will receive an overview of the history of equal pay legislation, an update on recent judicial and legislative developments in this area, a review of how some large American employers have faced this issue head-on, and compliance guidelines and recommendations for dealing with this rapidly evolving area of the law.  ​
