Managers play a crucial role in employment decision-making, but often do so without knowledge of their employer's legal requirements or input from their human resources department. As a result, litigation claims may arise simply due to a lack of understanding.

Littler's Atlanta attorneys will discuss how human resources professionals can help managers make better, safer, and legally compliant decisions throughout the employee lifecycle to avoid litigation. The speakers will address a variety of employment-related scenarios, provide recommendations and insights into how the courts and agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) might react, and discuss specific areas where HR should provide more guidance into managerial decisions.

This interactive course will feature videos that address real life situations. Topics will include:

  • Decision-making in hiring
  • Communicating with employees who are not meeting expectations
  • Dealing with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and leave situation
  • Handling allegations of hostile work environments
  • Determining when, how, and whether to terminate an employee
