This presentation will cover the latest 2018 developments in federal and state wage and hour issues involving components of minimum wage and overtime. The speaker will also discuss where things might be going in the new year, including:

Federal developments

  • Salary pay
  • Scope of federal exemptions
  • Tip pooling
  • Attorney-client privilege

State developments

  • Different state requirements-Expanding paid sick leave
  • Meal and rest periods

This series is geared towards business professionals, business owners, in-house counsel, and human resources managers for businesses of all types and sizes across Maine. Each session will have a primary focus and goal of leveraging the collective experiences of the attendees by encouraging open discussion and answering attendee questions about best practices, as well as strategies adopted by other companies for addressing employment-related challenges.
