Today, issues affecting retirement plans, welfare benefits and executive compensation arrangements have greater significance to employers and employees than at any other time in recent memory. The Affordable Care Act continues to affect employers in ways that would have been hard to predict when the statute was enacted. The Act has altered hiring patterns, changed the rules of the game vis a vis contingent workers and has played havoc with the collective bargaining process. In addition to the front page significance of the ACA, hardly a day goes by when we do not hear about either a class action or significant government inquiry which involves benefit plans. These issues may touch on plan investments and fees, plan governance and fiduciary issues, eligibility rules, company stock holdings, severance entitlements and executive compensation... In addition, the IRS and DOL continue their aggressive audits and continue to impose large fines on employers.

With this background, Littler is pleased to present its 2015 Employee Benefits Summit, where we will address these issues and provide practical solutions for employers who are plan sponsors and administrators. We will discuss healthcare reform, with a focus on cost-saving strategies, and also offer plan design and governance strategies for retirement plan sponsors and fiduciaries. We will discuss proactive steps which offer the best insulation from the threats posed by government agencies and plan participants. Littler's benefits litigators will discuss the real-life challenges that they see facing employers relating to retirement benefits, welfare plans and executive compensation arrangements. Overall, the goal of the Summit is to provide an in-depth review of current issues, while providing employers/plan sponsors and administrators with perspective, insight, and practical advice with respect to the operation of their employee benefit plans.
