Making accurate and timely credibility determinations is an essential skill for in-house counsel and human resources professionals, but how can you be certain someone is being truthful? The task can be daunting. However, there are techniques that can make the job easier: proven tips and tricks developed to assess truthfulness.

This entertaining and interactive presentation will outline tactics that can help determine whether someone is lying or telling the truth in the employment context and beyond. Topics will include:

  • The basic signs of deception
  • Tactics for detecting deceit when gathering information in a fact-gathering setting (e.g., interviews & investigations)
  • Legal and practical considerations regarding workplace use of polygraphs and personality tests
