The lifting of shelter-in-place orders may sound like good news, but actually reopening a previously closed operation is likely to be complicated and challenging. In this one-hour webinar, members of Littler’s Workplace Policy Institute (WPI) will provide an overview of the employment and labor law issues which must be taken into consideration as your organization evaluates the possibility of reopening.

  • Staying up to date with local, state and federal reopening policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Dealing with the challenge of operating in different states, cities, counties, each with their own vision of reopening
  • Identifying core staffing levels and procedures for recalling workers
  • Evaluating space planning and logistics required for the “socially distant” workplace
  • Customer interactions in the world of thermal imaging, plexiglass and facemasks
  • Meeting the obligation to provide a safe environment for workers, customers and other visitors
  • Consideration of possible safe harbors based on compliance with government orders
  • Integrating PPP loans into a reopening strategy
  • Possible WARN traps associated with a reopening followed by a reclosing
  • The future role of the Department of Labor
