Oregon’s new Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance (PFMLI) program is almost ready for the 2023 roll-out. The Oregon Employment Department (OED) published rules governing this comprehensive program over the summer, and it is expected to complete the final rules by the end of September.
This webinar will provide a general overview of the PFMLI program and focus its discussion on equivalent plan requirements for employers that choose to administer their own paid leave benefits. OED set a November 30, 2022, deadline for employers to complete an application for an equivalent plan or submit a declaration of intent to file one. The webinar will also address covered uses for leave, employee notice requirements, and the interplay between PFMLI, FMLA, OFLA, and Oregon Sick Leave.
