Littler Mendelson's Robert Millman Named Among Top Five Labor Lawyers in California by Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals

San Francisco, CA/ July 27, 2009 -- Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm representing management, is proud to announce that Robert Millman, chairman of the Board of Directors at Littler and founding shareholder of Littler's Los Angeles office, has been honored by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals as one of the top five management labor lawyers in California. The publication is California's largest legal news provider.

To qualify for this recognition, lawyers must be based in California and work for a private or public entity, including a law firm, corporation, nonprofit organization or university. Most importantly, lawyers must have had a significant impact in the larger world of labor law.

Key considerations for Millman's honor included his representation of the collective bargaining arm of the entertainment industry, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), in the strike-related labor issues in 2007 and 2008, including the final resolution of the volatile dispute. Other achievements include the successful negotiation of national accords with the California Nurses Association/National Nurses Organizing Committee (CAA/NNOC) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) on behalf of Tenet Healthcare Corporation, allowing for specific and limited organizing opportunities for CNA/NNOC and SEIU in exchange for labor peace for Tenet across the United States. Additionally, Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego decertified one of the largest SEIU-UHW bargaining units in California, and Millman, who represented Rady, was instrumental in achieving this extraordinary result. Millman has also been recognized in the past by The National Law Journal as one of the country's leading management employment attorneys.

"We are honored to have Robert Millman included on the Daily Journal's prestigious list," said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of the Firm. "We are extremely pleased that his efforts, accomplishments and successes have been recognized. We place tremendous value on his contributions to the Firm and to the labor and employment community overall," he added.
