Katherine Suttle Weinert advises clients on workplace law issues. Katie represents employers in employment claims, such as allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and pay law violations in state and federal courts throughout Alabama. She has tried several cases to a jury verdict. Katie also advises and represents clients regarding noncompete agreements and counsels employers in connection with terminating employment relationships.
She assists clients in dealings with the Alabama Department of Labor and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Katie is a member of the firm’s Workplace Violence Prevention Practice Group, where she advises and problem-solves with clients on issues relating to concerns of potential workplace violence issues and counseling clients in relation to actual threats of violence or violence impacting the workplace.
Before joining Littler, Katie’s litigation practice involved commercial disputes, professional malpractice claims, and employment law and regulatory compliance issues.
