  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
  • Federal and state data breach notification laws
  • Biometric data privacy issues
  • The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
  • Background checks and use of criminal history, including under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and state “ban-the-box” laws
  • The Federal Wiretap Act
  • Employee surveillance and monitoring, including under the Federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act, and Stored Communications Act

Alyssa is a Certified Information Privacy Professional, U.S. (CIPP/US).

During law school, she served as executive editor of the Virginia Business Law Review.
