Webinar
The UK Bribery Act in the U.S.
Thursday, September 15
- 7:00 AM PDT
The UK’s Bribery Act of 2010 came into force on July 1, 2011 and will have a major impact on U.S. employers who have operations in, or certain other business relations with, the UK. Designed to be “the toughest bribery legislation in the world,” the law reaches far beyond the borders of the UK and may impact how employers do business in the U.S. and other countries.
Join us to explore this new law and how it affects your operations in the UK, U.S., and around the world.
Topics will include:
- The key provisions of the UK Act
- The liability for actions the UK Act can create in the U.S. or other countries
- The thorny issue of facilitation payments
- The cost of getting it wrong
- The major differences between UK and U.S. laws
- The proactive steps U.S. employers must take to avoid/limit liability
This webinar will be led by Ellen Temperton, a partner at the UK firm Lewis Silkin, Philip M. Berkowitz, Shareholder and U.S. Co-Practice Group Leader for Littler's International Employment and Labor Law Practice Group, and David Goldman, Managing Shareholder for the Firm’s Compliance Training Practice, Littler Learning Group (LLG).
