Reduction in Force: Effectively Managing the Process During the RIF and Rehiring

Over the past year, companies laid off employees in numbers not seen since the last recession. During this hands-on RIF seminar, participants will learn the rules for economic layoffs while minimizing corporate liability, which, if done incorrectly, could be greater than the projected savings of downsizing. This session provides an update on RIF case law every company should know and guidance on strategically conducting RIFs and effectively dealing with RIFed employees during a company's rehiring process. You should plan to attend this seminar if your company struggles with properly conducting RIFs, determining whether the WARN Act applies to layoffs, bargaining with the union over layoffs, developing RIF selection criteria, or dealing with RIFed employees who reapply once the company starts the re-hire process.
