In the past few years, several states and municipalities have enacted “ban the box” laws, which not only restrict certain inquiries in the hiring process, but also regulate consideration of certain convictions and mandate a notice process that is different than that required by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act. These laws are sweeping the nation, with Los Angeles being the most recent to enact one of the more stringent “ban the box” laws. 

Littler's Jennifer Mora and Rod Fliegel will discuss the new Los Angeles law, which will dramatically change the way in which Los Angeles employers will screen their workforces, as well as provide a general overview of ban the box laws generally, and what employers can do to comply with these myriad new requirements.
