Littler’s Whitney Fay Selected for Missouri Bar Association’s Leadership Academy

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (August 14, 2019) – Whitney Fay, an associate in the Kansas City office of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been selected for the Missouri Bar Association’s Leadership Academy class of 2019-2020.

The Leadership Academy recruits young or recently admitted attorneys who are outstanding leaders in their communities for participation in the program. The academy seeks diversity in gender, race, area of practice and region of practice, in order to broaden and strengthen the leadership of the Missouri Bar. Candidates are nominated by attorneys, their firms or local bar associations.

“We congratulate Whitney on being selected into this program,” said Dan Boatright, Kansas City office managing shareholder. “She is an active member of our local community, as well as an integral part of our Kansas City office. Whitney is a perfect choice for the Leadership Academy and we look forward to her continued contributions.”

Participants complete leadership training at the Missouri Bar Center in Jefferson City, attend meetings of the Missouri Bar committees and board of governors, meet leaders of the Missouri Bar, and attend two full-day workshops focused on leadership styles. The academy also develops a class community service project, which each member facilities in his or her community. At the end of the year, the members commit to two additional years of service with the Missouri Bar.

In her practice at Littler, Fay counsels and represents employers on a wide range of workplace matters. Her experience includes conducting investigations into employee complaints. Prior to joining the firm, Fay served in the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where she counseled clients across multiple industries and worked closely with government agencies at the federal, state and local levels.

Fay earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law and her B.A. from Truman State University.
