Littler's Tony Skogen Named Chair of the California Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Section

Los Angeles, California/ October 28 -- Littler Mendelson is pleased to announce that the California Bar Association has selected Tony Skogen to be the  2005-2006 Chair of the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section. The Executive Committee serves at the pleasure of the Board of Governors of the State Bar in matters related to labor and employment law and sits as the governing body of the Section.

"It's a huge honor and responsibility, and I look forward to the challenge and the opportunity to work with the State Bar to further its service and educational goals," said Mr. Skogen.

As Chair of the Executive Committee, Mr. Skogen will be instrumental in developing the overall strategic direction of the Section as well as identifying and establishing new ways to help its members maintain expertise in their practice areas, to expand the professional contacts of its members, and generally to serve the profession and the public.  As a member of the Executive Committee, he will also be involved with the Diversity Outreach Sub-Committee's efforts to increase diversity participation within the Section and the State Bar.

"The Section's Executive Committee shares Littler's commitment to an all inclusive bar, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with the our Section and other organizations toward the common goal of increasing minority participation," said Skogen, who also sits on Littler's firm Diversity Council Advisory Group.

With a membership of almost 6,000 attorneys, the Labor and Employment Law Section serves as the primary resource for California attorneys seeking up-to-date knowledge of the legal and legislative developments affecting the workplace. The Section also provides a forum for California's labor lawyers and employment lawyers--from the union/employee side, from the management/employer side, and from the related neutrals such as mediators, arbitrators, government practitioners to law professors--through road-shows, seminars, and its Labor and Employment Law Review, which is published every two months.
