SAN DIEGO (August 31, 2020) – Mishell Parreno Taylor, office managing shareholder of the San Diego office of Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has been awarded the University of Houston Law Center (UHLC) Alumni Association Private Practice Achievement Award. She was presented the award virtually on Saturday, August 29 during the UHLC’s annual gala.
Each year, the UHLC Alumni Association celebrates alumni and faculty who have made outstanding contributions that make the Law Center shine in the business and legal community. The Alumni Association Private Practice Achievement Award recognizes those of exceptional achievement and legal excellence in private practice. Parreno Taylor is personally committed to mentoring law students and recent graduates as they navigate their entry into the legal profession and is a member of UHLC’s Steering Committee for the Hispanic Alumni Group.
In her practice at Littler, Parreno Taylor focuses her legal career on representing employers of all sizes, ranging from local to global corporations on a broad spectrum of employment law issues. She has extensive experience in handling employment litigation in federal and state courts and administrative agencies across the country with a focus on California and Texas. Parreno Taylor distinguishes herself from many of her peers with her ability to effectively handle employment compliance and litigation in circumstances involving a multilingual and multicultural workforce.
In addition to her strong litigation skills, Parreno Taylor has extensive experience in advising employers on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. She assists clients in identifying and preventing problems before they arise through compliance analysis and development of workplace policies and procedures. Additionally, Parreno Taylor co-chairs Littler’s Reunión Affinity Group, is a member of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and is a member of Littler’s Mexico Board.
Over the past year, Parreno Taylor was named one most influential leaders in San Diego by The Daily Transcript and is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society. She earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Houston.
