Littler Shareholder Mishell Parreno Taylor Appointed San Diego Office Managing Shareholder

SAN DIEGO (April 1, 2019) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has appointed Mishell Parreno Taylor as office managing shareholder (OMS) of the firm’s San Diego office. Parreno Taylor succeeds Denise Visconti, who has stepped down from the role and will continue to focus on her active practice, including expanding the firm’s capabilities in the area of pay equity.

“We want to thank Denise for her outstanding leadership and numerous contributions during her time as head of the San Diego office,” said Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth, co-managing directors of Littler, in a joint statement. “We look forward to having Mishell step into the OMS role and build upon the foundation Denise has established.”

Over the past several years, Parreno Taylor has taken on a number of leadership roles within the firm, including serving as a board member for Littler’s Mexico offices and as co-chair of the Reunión affinity group.  She is also an active member of Littler’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and involved in several of the firm’s practice groups.

In her practice, Parreno Taylor focuses on representing employers of all sizes on a broad spectrum of employment law issues. She has extensive experience in handling employment litigation in federal and state courts and administrative agencies across the country, including California and Texas. She defends clients against individual and class-wide claims of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination and retaliation. Additionally, she handles both individual and class action wage and hour litigation in matters involving claims of missed meal and rest periods, unlawful deductions, misclassification and off-the-clock work.

Parreno Taylor distinguishes herself from many of her peers with her ability to effectively handle employment compliance and litigation in circumstances involving a multilingual and multicultural workforce. Having been born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and being a native Spanish speaker, she is able to appreciate the cultural differences and nuances inherent when communicating with Spanish-speaking employees.

Parreno Taylor earned her J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Houston.
