Littler Mendelson Welcomes Tyler Paetkau to San Francisco Office

San Francisco, CA/ April 9, 2007 -- Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of its newest shareholder, Tyler Paetkau, to its San Francisco office.

Mr. Paetkau joins Littler from Winston & Strawn's San Francisco office, where he concentrated his practice in labor and employment relations litigation and counseling. He has represented employers in state and federal court in cases involving a variety of claims, including wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, defamation, unpaid commissions and wage and hour violations, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Mr. Paetkau also provides extensive day-to-day employment counseling on a myriad of matters such as personnel policies and procedures, employee handbooks, workplace investigations, employee discipline and termination matters, corporate restructuring, immigration, employment contracts, protection of trade secrets, employee leasing, the use of temporary employees, and employment benefits issues.

"Tyler will be a superb addition to our office and to our firm. We have been wooing him for more than two years, and we are thrilled that everything finally fell into place," said San Francisco Office Managing Shareholder, Richard Hill.

Mr. Paetkau received his B.A., with high honors and high distinction, from the University of Michigan. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School in 1989, where he was the articles editor for the Journal of Law Reform. Mr. Paetkau is past chair and current advisor of the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California’s Labor and Employment Law Section. He also is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association, Bar Association of San Francisco, and Santa Clara County Bar Association.

"Winston & Strawn is a great firm, but Littler is a better fit for my clients and my practice. Its resources, geographical reach, flexible approach to billing and more competitive rate structure are all very attractive to both clients and labor and employment law practitioners. I look forward to working with a great team to expand Littler's global footprint," said Paetkau.
