Littler Mendelson Welcomes Respected Litigator, Harry Jones, to the Dallas Office

Dallas, TX (May 28, 2010) – Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, today announced the addition of Harry Jones, a prominent trial attorney, as a shareholder to its Dallas office.

For two decades, Jones has advised and defended employers on almost every aspect of employment and labor law, including several complex investigations that have drawn wide media coverage. He has covered everything from workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation, to injury and failure to hire. He has accumulated a remarkable record in court, serving as lead counsel in 25 jury trials with only one loss. His successes include a jury verdict against the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also prevailed in a case against the Teamsters for vandalism, enforced restraints on illicit competition, and aggressively protected business interests from unfair competition across the country.

Jones has represented management in Texas state courts at the trial and appellate levels, as well as in federal courts in Texas, California, Tennessee and North Carolina. He has handled dozens of disputes before the National Labor Relations Board and the U.S. Department of Labor and served as lead counsel in defending employers in national wage and hour class action cases.

Jones provides internal investigations for employers and daily advice to management and human resources professionals on employment issues. Over the past decade, Jones has been tapped by school districts, cities and colleges to lead more than 30 investigations, often involving sensitive issues, including the McKinney cheerleader scandal, the Sunnyvale locker room hazing incident, and the Lancaster superintendent inquiry.

"Harry is the perfect person to help us manage the increasingly complex problems faced by our clients," said Jennifer Youpa, office managing shareholder of the Dallas office. "He is highly regarded in the Dallas business community, and his depth of knowledge, experience and accomplishments will provide additional strength to the counsel we offer in Dallas."

Jones is admitted to practice in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Prior to joining Littler, Jones was a partner in the Dallas office of Anderson & Jones. He received his J.D. from the Texas Tech University School of Law cum laude and his B.A. from Abilene Christian University magna cum laude.
