Littler Mendelson Welcomes Jeffrey Harrison to Its Minneapolis Office

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (August 10, 2010) – Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm representing management, today announced the addition of shareholder Jeffrey Harrison to its Minneapolis, MN office.

Harrison, formerly a partner with Ford & Harrison LLP, advises management on labor and employment matters, with a significant amount of time devoted to assisting clients with their union-free efforts. He has successfully represented numerous employers throughout the United States and Canada in all stages of union-organizing campaigns.

In recent years, Harrison has worked with several national companies to develop strategies to prepare for the challenges of the Employee Free Choice Act. He also has extensive experience conducting employment practices audits and working with clients to develop pro-active union avoidance programs. He also has negotiated contracts and successfully handled a number of arbitrations for unionized clients.

"It's my distinct pleasure to welcome Jeff to Littler," said George Wood, office managing shareholder of the firm's Minneapolis office. "Aside from being an all-around great guy, his experience in labor and employment law—particularly his work surrounding union issues—make him an invaluable resource for both the firm and our clients."

While Harrison's work has been concentrated in the automotive, automotive supply, and healthcare industries, he has also represented employers in many additional industries, including rubber, assisted living, food and beverage, transportation, retail, hospitality, and warehousing.

Harrison has frequently presented to employer groups on the subject of labor and employment law, including an address before the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce members at their annual meeting. Recently, he co-authored a white paper for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on issues surrounding labor law reform. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, and the American Senior Housing Association.

"I am looking forward to joining my Littler colleagues in the Minneapolis office," said Harrison. "The firm's unlimited resources, knowledge base of its attorneys, and trusted, national reputation will dramatically enhance my ability to serve my clients."

Harrison received his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School cum laude and B.A. from Michigan State University with honors. He is admitted to practice in the Michigan and Tennessee state bars.
