Littler Mendelson Welcomes Bob Drake to Philadelphia Office

Nation's Largest Labor and Employment Law Firm Strengthens Health Care Practice with Experienced Specialist

Philadelphia, PA/ March 4, 2008 -- Littler Mendelson, the nation's largest labor and employment law firm representing management, is pleased to announce the arrival of its latest attorney, Bob Drake, to the firm's Philadelphia office.

As of counsel, Drake will continue his practice focusing on clients in health care related industries, including hospital and clinical settings. His unique experience allows him to work closely with in-house counsel and with human resources professionals to address litigation, investigations and employee relations concerns creatively and from a wider business perspective.

"We are thrilled to have Bob join our firm, and augment an already strong team," said Thomas Bender, managing shareholder of Littler's Philadelphia office. "His extensive experience and knowledge make him a great addition, and his work on employer health care and related health care services is exemplary."

Drake commented, "After many years as a client of Littler, I could not pass up the opportunity to join a firm with such deep and broad expertise in all aspects of employment law. I look forward to putting my experience in the health care field into practice for such a highly respected and well-known firm. My recent work advising employers working with government regulators, investigators and law enforcement, and coordinating internal investigations of potential employee wrong-doing prepares me to expand the expert capabilities of the Littler Philadelphia office."

Drake has defended employers in discrimination cases, wrongful termination litigation, and handled drafting and litigation of employment and executive agreements that include severance agreements and non-compete clauses in pharmacy, specialty care, and various other healthcare organizations. He has a wide array of experience in conducting internal investigations into employee misbehavior, fraud and wrong-doing, especially in the health care arena.

Drake has tried numerous bench and trial cases in state and federal court throughout the U.S. Most recently, he has focused on representing employers that have had employees accused of fraud and other serious offenses.

Drake attended Reed College in Portland, Ore., and earned his Juris Doctor from Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia. Prior to joining Littler, Drake was senior counsel, Labor and Employment and Corporate Litigation, for CIGNA Corporation, and also served more than five years as the chief employment law counsel for Lovelace Hospital Systems, an acute care hospital system in Albuquerque, N.M.
