Littler Mendelson Named A "Best Place to Work" by Human Rights Campaign Foundation; Awarded Perfect Corporate Equality Index Marks

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 12, 2010) – Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation's largest employment and labor law firm representing management, is proud to announce that the firm was named one of the "Best Places to Work" in a recent report from the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation. The HRC is the educational arm of the nation's largest advocacy group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) Americans. The report, "Corporate Equality Index (CEI) 2011," also gave Littler a perfect 100 rating.

The purpose of the CEI is to measure the extent to which employers protect and support their GLBT employees in the workplace. Ratings are based on factors such as non-discrimination policies, sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training, and employer-provided benefits for domestic partners and transgender employees. Littler's perfect score was based on information submitted by the firm, as well as independent research conducted by the HRC Foundation.

"Littler is proud to have once again earned a top rating, and to be designated one of the Best Places to Work by the HRC Foundation," said Marko Mrkonich, president and managing director of the firm. "Diversity is part of Littler's identity, and we have worked hard to become a leader in promoting inclusion, openness and opportunity among our attorneys and staff," he said. "Our performance in the CEI study underscores our efforts."

The 2011 CEI rated a total of 844 companies, including all of those listed in the Fortune 500. Of the companies rated, 263 Fortune 500 companies voluntarily participated in the survey; the HRC rated the remaining 229 companies based on publicly available data. Additionally, 66 Fortune 1,000 companies, 130 law firms, and 156 other companies voluntarily participated in the survey. The complete report is available at www.hrc.org/CEI2011.
