Kimberly Yates to Head Littler Casesmart – Charges™

Littler Shareholder Brings Extensive Legal and Business Background, Experience Launching Corporate Technology Projects

(NOVEMBER 4, 2015) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has named Kimberly Yates the Program Director for Littler CaseSmart – Charges™. Yates is a shareholder in Littler’s St. Louis office and has an extensive background representing clients in employment litigation matters, in addition to strong experience launching corporate technology projects.

Littler CaseSmart® is an award-winning technology platform that applies a unique combination of technology, alternative staffing and project management to handle employment matters in a more cost-effective and efficient manner, while enhancing quality and consistency and providing data-driven insights on business risks and other employment issues. Littler CaseSmart – Charges was launched in 2010 to streamline the management of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) charges and, to date, has handled over 10,000 charges in virtually every jurisdiction in the country.

“We view Littler CaseSmart as the future of labor and employment law and Kim’s deep legal and business backgrounds will be instrumental for the continued growth of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges platform,” said shareholder Scott Forman, founder of Littler CaseSmart and a member of Littler’s board of directors. “Kim’s well-earned reputation as lead trial counsel on a number of high-profile cases, previous experience managing and launching technology initiatives, and current leadership role within the firm made her the ideal candidate for this position.”

Since joining Littler as one of the founding shareholders of the St. Louis office in 2008, Yates has served in several leadership positions within the firm while successfully representing clients in a variety of employment matters, including EEO charges, unfair competition litigation and claims arising under a multitude of state and federal employment laws. Prior to entering the legal field, she spent five years at Procter & Gamble, where she rolled out several technology initiatives, developed strategies for the entry of new products into the marketplace, and trained customers on innovative products and new technology platforms.

“I’m excited to embark on this new role and to collaborate with the talented Littler CaseSmart team as the platform continues to evolve,” Yates said. “As the legal market is constantly being reshaped by a variety of forces, Littler CaseSmart has proven to be an effective solution to the management of EEO charges and single-plaintiff employment litigation. I have firsthand experience working within the Littler CaseSmart model and look forward to contributing to Littler’s efforts to provide clients with innovative and sophisticated solutions in an increasingly complex legal environment.”

Building off the success of Littler CaseSmart – Charges, the platform has expanded to include the defense of single-plaintiff employment litigation through Littler CaseSmart – Litigation™. The firm has also developed several additional technology platforms and services that enhance the delivery of legal services. Yates’ new position follows on the heels of the addition of Zev J. Eigen as the firm’s first Global Director of Data Analytics, as well as the launch of Littler’s Big Data Initiative to provide clients with analytics resources to benchmark and analyze HR and litigation strategies.

Littler’s commitment to innovation has been recognized through several awards and accolades, including the Financial Times’ 2014 North America Innovative Lawyers report, the International Legal Technology Association’s Distinguished Peer Awards and the College of Law Practice Management’s InnovAction Award. Additionally, a number of the firm’s shareholders have been recognized as industry visionaries, including Scott Forman who was recently named to the Fastcase 50.
