(July 7, 2020) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, is pleased to announce Karl Fritton (Philadelphia) and Dane Steffenson (Atlanta) have been elected as Fellows of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in the Class of 2020. Fritton and Steffenson’s selection to the College brings the total number of Littler lawyers who are Fellows of the prestigious organization to 30.

The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers is a nonprofit professional association honoring the leading lawyers nationwide in the practice of labor and employment law. Those elected to the College are recognized as upholding the highest professional qualifications and ethical standards, as well as exhibiting strong scholarship, teaching, lecturing, and/or writing, along with leadership of no less than 20 years. Election as a Fellow is the highest recognition by one’s colleagues of sustained outstanding performance in the profession and a demonstration of integrity, dedication, and excellence.
Karl A. Fritton has over 35 years of experience representing a variety of national employers in collective bargaining, labor arbitration, and labor-related litigation before the National Labor Relations Board and the state and federal courts. He has acted as chief negotiator in over 300 labor negotiations and handled more than 300 labor arbitrations throughout the U.S., obtaining favorable results for clients on a variety of issues.
Fritton has been named by The Best Lawyers in America© since 1999 and recognized as a leading lawyer in the Chambers USA guide. He earned his J.D. from Rutgers University and his B.S. from the State University of New York at Albany.
Dane Steffenson has over 20 years of experience litigating employment cases. He spent 17 years advising and litigating on some of the U.S. Department of Labor’s (DOL) most complex, novel, and high-profile cases serving as lead counsel on hundreds of employment cases, more than 25 trials, and many mediations. In 2016, Steffenson’s peers and the solicitor of labor recognized him as the DOL’s top litigator. He now helps employers with compliance, litigation, and navigating DOL investigations under the Fair Labor Standards Act and other wage and hour laws, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
Steffenson is co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Fair Labor Standards Legislation Committee and Federal Law Clerk Training Committee. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Georgia State University College of Law, his M.A. from Baylor University, and his B.S., cum laude, from California State University.
