Michael Brewer Warns Employers About the Implications of RICO Violations if the Supreme Court Says Companies Can be Held Liable

In this article covering the current RICO suits under review, Michael Brewer notes that "Everybody is waiting on how the U.S. Supreme Court will rule on the (RICO) issue. If the court says employers can be held liable for RICO violations, then we will see a new wave of employment class actions." Brewer cautions employers on how potential liability can be triggered, and offers advice to employers who use third party vendors. "These are entirely brand new liability issues for employers, and those that will be most affected are employers who rely on third-party vendors to carry out business," Brewer said.
