Overview

Tara Param is an experienced employment litigator. Tara has represented employers in a wide range of matters, including:

  • Employment discrimination and retaliation claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Section 1981, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and their state counterparts
  • Wrongful termination, tortious interference, and breach of contract claims brought by high level employees
  • Title IX sexual harassment claims against institutions of higher education
  • Wage and hour claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Whistleblower claims under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law

Tara advises clients on personnel decisions, accommodation requests, leaves of absences, harassment claims, terminations and disciplines, and other legal compliance issues. She also conducts training for company employees and human resources departments, including Title IX sexual harassment training. Tara has also prepared and updated handbooks for a number of her corporate clients. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Tara provided advice and counseling to companies concerning the vaccination and mask requirements and return to work planning.

Tara also dedicates a portion of her practice to pro bono matters. Currently, Tara represents a client with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project.

Prior to joining Littler, Tara worked as an associate at large international law firms in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, where she defended employers in various types of employment litigation.

During law school, Tara served as president of Cornell’s Briggs Society of International Law and was managing editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy. Tara also participated in Cornell’s Attorneys for Children Clinic, where she assisted with the representation of children and parents in family law matters involving issues of child abuse and neglect, parental rights and custody.
