Richard Harvey joined GQ in January 2016 as a partner following GQ's acquisition of Camfords LLP, an employment law boutique of which Richard was a founding member. Before Camfords, Richard was a senior lawyer at international law firm Clyde & Co. He also held senior in-house employment counsel roles at Paramount Pictures and Tata Consultancy Services.
Richard has concentrated his practice in employment law since 2002. He advises a client base of companies across a wide range of sectors including insurance, life sciences and luxury retail on the full range of their employment law requirements. He has particular experience in advising on employee relations matters, terminations, HR strategies and the employment law implications which arise from organisational change and development including outsourcing, transfer of undertakings (TUPE) and collective redundancy programmes. He is described in Legal 500 as a “great strategist” and rated as a leading individual in Chambers & Partners.
Richard has developed a niche practice as an international employment lawyer, advising international companies on their global HR requirements. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), the American Bar Association (ABA) and the European Employment Lawyers Association. Richard was a speaker at the IBA annual conference in Vienna in 2015 and he is vice chair on the International Employment Law Committee of the ABA International Section.
