Overview

Meghan M. Cox represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment law matters in federal and state courts, as well as in proceedings before administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and equivalent state agencies. In her litigation practice, she handles matters involving:

  • Discrimination and retaliation claims
  • Workplace harassment claims
  • Leaves of absence and disability accommodation
  • Wrongful discharge and related state tort claims
  • Noncompete, unfair competition, and trade secret claims
  • Wage and hour issues

She has significant experience defending class actions and has represented clients in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals and state appellate courts in Tennessee.

Prior to joining Littler, Meghan practiced employment, commercial, and intellectual property litigation and handled trademark and copyright prosecutions and transactions at two other firms. Before entering private practice, she advised colleges and universities on athletics compliance issues as a member of the NCAA’s Academic and Membership Affairs staff.

At the University of Notre Dame, Meghan was president of the Sports, Communications, and Entertainment Law Forum and a four-year varsity cheerleader for the Irish. She served as squad captain during her second year of law school in 2011-2012.
