Overview

Matthew P. Lane represents and advises employers regarding a wide range of labor and employment matters. Matt also provides employment training to help prevent problems in the workplace. 

Prior to joining Littler, Matt served as Assistant U.S. Attorney, Civil Division, Central District of California, where he represented the U.S. and its agencies in civil litigation in federal court, including defending claims of employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Previously, he was an associate attorney at a boutique law firm that primarily defended clients in construction litigation. Additionally, he was a presidential management fellow with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, a two year fellowship in which he gained experience in government management and legal experience related to housing law.

During law school, Matt was a legal extern for an international surf company, a law clerk for a boutique plaintiff's personal injury firm, a law clerk for the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office, and a judicial extern for the Hon. Edmundo Hendler, a federal appellate judge in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Matt has completed the Basic Civil Mediation Training program through the University of Missouri School of Law. He is a Pro Bono Mediator in Jackson County and Clay County, Missouri.
