Overview

Maikieta A. Brantley focuses her practice on labor and employment law matters.

Previously, Maikieta was the primary counsel for a national 501(c) organization regarding its labor and employment practices. In this capacity, she revised a company handbook, drafted letters for the client to provide to employees regarding discipline, and counseled the employer on appropriate disciplinary measures. She also drafted an employee handbook for a private corporation and represented both a municipality and a third party employer in wrongful termination hearings. The hearings required advising the clients on legal strategies, interviewing witnesses, and drafting direct and cross examinations.

Maikieta's background includes teaching first year law students in the nationally ranked Lawyering Process Program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law as a visiting assistant professor.
