Overview

Julie A. Sacks focuses her practice on defending employers in the private and public sector in labor and employment law matters. Julie has litigated labor and employment cases in federal and state courts, arbitration, and before federal and state agencies. 

Julie has successfully represented employers in collective bargaining disputes, labor grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, claims of alleged employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wrongful termination, and medical leave claims. Her practical experience also includes advising management on day-to-day labor relations and personnel issues and helping employers draft policies and employee handbooks that are compliant with applicable law.

Before joining Littler, Julie worked at a Providence law firm as an associate in its labor and employment practice group where she handled all phases of labor and employment litigation. Her prior experience also includes work as a government lawyer at the state and local levels where she represented public sector clients in administrative law matters and appeals, including numerous labor grievance arbitrations, teacher termination cases, and professional licensing and regulatory matters. 

Prior to becoming an attorney, Julie worked in the nonprofit sector as a corporate fundraiser for mission-driven organizations.
