Hilary A. Barrett represents management exclusively in the field of employment law. She handles litigation matters and appears in state and federal courts as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board and the Nevada Equal Rights Commission handling matters that arise under:

  • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
  • The Americans with Disabilities Act
  • The Family and Medical Leave Act
  • Equal Pay Act
  • National Labor Relations Act
  • Nevada anti-discrimination laws

In addition to litigation, Hilary counsels employers on various topics, including:

  • The Americans with Disabilities Act
  • The Family and Medical Leave Act
  • Non-competes and trade secrets
  • Leaves of absence
  • Accommodation
  • Harassment and discrimination
  • Union organizing and negotiations
  • Performance management
  • Hiring practices

She also provides training sessions and regularly reviews and drafts policies, handbooks and employment agreements. Hilary is an adjunct professor of Hospitality Law at UNLV. 

Prior to joining Littler, Hilary worked as in-house labor and employment counsel for a large, multistate employer.

In law school, Hilary was the managing editor for the Nevada Law Journal.
