Overview

Gary Clayton counsels clients on compliance with U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations. Drawing on his vast experience building, implementing and assessing privacy programs, he also counsels clients on establishing privacy policies and strategies that reduce the risk of data breaches and exposure to litigation and government enforcement actions.

For more than 20 years, Gary has worked on the cutting edge of privacy and data protection, data governance and cybersecurity. He has extensive experience with U.S. and international privacy and data protection laws, regulations and practices and is recognized for his privacy assessment services and policy and security training programs. He has represented clients from a wide range of industries, including governmental entities, as well as domestic and international corporations.

Gary has litigated in both federal and state courts where he has tried over 30 cases to verdict or judgment and has published numerous articles, reports and books on privacy, data protection, compliance and fraud prevention and marketing.
