Dena Sanders’s practice encompasses all areas of labor and employment law. Dena advises employers on a wide range of employment issues, including workplace policies, disability accommodations, employee discipline and terminations, medical marijuana and drug testing, workplace safety, and employment contracts. Dena has represented employers in litigation concerning Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Arizona Civil Rights Act, and the Arizona Employment Protection Act, as well as numerous employment-related tort claims. Dena has extensive experience defending employers with regard to agency charges, including preparing position statements and participating in mediation.
During law school, Dena was an executive editor for the Georgetown Law Journal, a legal writing tutor, and served as president of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. She interned for the Civil Frauds Division of the Department of Justice and the Humane Society of the United States.
