As a member of the Littler CaseSmart – Charges™ team and based in California, Christina Tapia is responsible for handling charges from investigation to conclusion. She works on client-dedicated service teams, specializing in handling administrative agency charges. She investigates charge allegations, reviews pertinent documents, interviews key witnesses, and provides clients an assessment of the risks associated with the charge. In partnership with the client, she defends the charge by drafting persuasive position statements and responses to the agency’s requests for information.
Christina has experience in all aspects of litigation, including preparing and arguing motions, witness interviews, depositions, discovery, mediation, settlement, defending clients at trial and administrative hearings, and drafting post-trial motions. Prior to joining Littler, she worked on numerous matters dealing with discrimination and harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour claims. She assisted employers in their drafting of employee handbooks and provided counseling on employment-related matters. Christina also represented clients in charges filed with various state and federal agencies including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Additionally, she defended employers during investigations and audits conducted by government entities.
Christina previously served as a faculty member of the University of San Diego's Paralegal Program where she taught a course on labor and employment law.
