Overview

Carey Ann Denefrio represents employers on a broad range of employment matters arising under federal and state law. She has successfully defended clients in both state and federal courts, including the defense of claims involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful discharge, failure to accommodate, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and employee benefits plans.

Prior to joining Littler, Carey Ann served for eight years as the Confidential Law Clerk to the Hon. Jonathan W. Feldman, United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of New York. During her tenure, she worked on various types of civil and criminal litigation matters. She worked extensively on cases involving employment discrimination, employment contracts, wage and hour class actions, the Fair Labor Standards Act, patent litigation, Section 1983 civil rights, Social Security appeals, and negligence claims.

Carey Ann previously practiced at a litigation firm in Rochester, where she defended corporate clients in a wide range of civil litigation matters, including numerous labor and employment cases.
