Overview

Anne Sanchez LaWer is an employee benefits attorney with substantial experience advising clients with respect to compliance issues for employee health and welfare benefit plans, retirement plans and executive compensation practices. Her practice focuses on compliance with the:

  • Employee Retirement Income and Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) 
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), including the Privacy and Security Rules
  • Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (ACA)

Anne advises clients regarding Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor compliance programs, reporting requirements, fiduciary issues, COBRA compliance, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) issues, non-discrimination testing and plan administration issues. She also has substantial experience advising clients on employee benefit issues in mergers and acquisitions.

She serves on employee benefit committees, designs and drafts employee benefit plans including self-insured medical plans, flexible benefit plans, severance plans, and other employee welfare benefit plans.
