Alicia Montana Morrell represents local and national employers in employment litigation matters including wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, sexual harassment and battery, failure to accommodate and wage and hour claims. She partners with clients to understand their business goals when determining the best path forward in contentious litigation. She also delivers targeted advice in matters relating to safety and health at work sites and serves as a trainer delivering antiharassment workshops in compliance with state and federal law.

Alicia’s accomplishments on behalf of clients include:

  • Second chaired a trial that successfully blocked a former executive’s breach of contract, fraud and wrongful termination claims against a factoring services company in California Superior Court. Managed more than 200 exhibits from plaintiff and skillfully questioned a key witness
  • Negotiating favorable settlements for several clients – including healthcare, financing and food and beverage companies – in workplace cases before the California labor commissioner
  • Resolving multiple arbitrations for global provider of water, hygiene and energy technologies by deposing claimants, interviewing managers and guiding client to beneficial conclusion
  • Conducts site inspections to identify safety or compliance violations of federal or state regulations
  • Represented companies cited for violations by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA). Successfully changed violations from “serious” to “general,” thus significantly reducing monetary fines

Alicia leads training sessions and webinars on sexual harassment prevention, maintaining a respectful workplace, and eliminating implicit bias.

Before joining Littler, Alicia clerked for the Hon. Peter C. Lewis and the Hon. Mitchell D. Dembin, both in the U.S. District Court’s Southern District of California. 

Alicia earned a master’s degree in higher education administration and previously worked in various leadership roles within student affairs at several universities.
