Derrick Lam represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law, including matters involving:

  • Wage and hour class, representative and single-plaintiff actions
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Wrongful termination
  • Independent contractor and contingent worker analysis and litigation

Derrick counsels a diverse set of clients, including startups and global corporations, to ensure compliance with federal and state labor and employment laws. His practice features an emphasis on wage and hour requirements, including company-wide audits of exempt classifications and other pay practices; employee leave and accommodations for employees with disabilities; hiring, discipline, and termination decisions; and workplace investigations.

Derrick is a co-chair of Littler’s Career Advocacy Program (CAP), one of the firm’s key inclusion, equity, and diversity sponsorship programs. Derrick also serves on the Los Angeles office’s Recruiting Committee.
