Littler Names Three New Office Managing Shareholders

(January 10, 2018) – Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has appointed new leaders of its Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Minneapolis offices, effective January 1, 2018. Shannon Boyce succeeds Robert Blumberg in Littler’s Downtown and Century City Los Angeles offices; William Leahy succeeds Kristine Grady Derewicz in Philadelphia; and Shirley Lerner succeeds Andrew Voss in Minneapolis. Each previous office managing shareholder (OMS) will maintain their active legal practices and leadership responsibilities at Littler, with Blumberg continuing on the firm’s Board of Directors and Derewicz and Voss joining Littler’s seven-person Management Committee.

An experienced trial and appellate attorney, Boyce focuses her practice on a range of employment litigation matters, such as discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, and wage and hour claims. She counsels clients in various industries, including technology, healthcare, finance, higher education, manufacturing and retail, and she regularly conducts in-house training sessions with management teams on employment law topics. Boyce received her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and her B.A., cum laude, from New York University.

Leahy focuses his practice on counseling clients on matters that arise out of the employer-employee relationship, including those involving discrimination and harassment, protection of trade secrets and confidential information, and disability and medical leave requirements. He has extensive experience defending employers in bench and jury trials, in federal and state courts and he represents employers in a range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceutical and defense contracting. Leahy previously served on Littler’s Associates Committee. He earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and his B.A. from Boston College.

Lerner counsels and defends local and national businesses in a variety of industries including manufacturing, technology, financial, real estate and professional services. As a successful trial lawyer who has litigated cases involving non-competition, discrimination and harassment, leave laws, and retaliation, she uses these experiences to keep clients out of the courtroom. In addition to counseling clients in all aspects of employee relations and risk management, Lerner routinely assists her clients with wage and hour compliance, independent contractor classification and workforce reductions in force. She also assists clients with drafting and implementing successful policies, compensation and commission agreements, and leave programs, which includes national paid sick leave policies, and accommodation programs. Lerner received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School and her B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.
