Effective January 15, 2015, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will require all employers to notify OSHA when a single employee suffers a work-related hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye. Previously, OSHA's regulations required an employer to report only incidents requiring hospitalizations of three or more employees. This is in addition to the existing requirement that employers must notify OSHA when an employee is killed on the job.

In addition to its new reporting requirements, OSHA has changed the listing of those employers exempt from injury and illness recordkeeping obligations. As a result, in 2015 a number of workplaces that have never before been required to keep these records will have to begin to do so.

Our speaker will present a one hour webinar that will discuss these changes to OSHA injury and illness reporting and recordkeeping rules. The webinar will address not only the immediate impact and mechanics of these changes, but also how they may change an employer’s preparation for OSHA inspections resulting from reporting these incidents, as well as considerations and strategies for accident investigation and reporting.
